Areas We Serve
Four offices, from Rockland to Brooklyn. We appear in the courts where our clients’ cases are actually heard.
Our offices
These three are ours. Everywhere else on this page we serve from them โ and we will travel to you if you cannot travel to us.
White Plains

Westchester County
Injury claims are heard at Westchester County Supreme Court in White Plains, a few minutes from our office. Each community below has its own roads, its own courts and its own pattern of claims.
Rockland County
Claims are filed at the Rockland County Courthouse in New City — not in the village where the accident happened. That catches people out regularly.
New York City
Each borough is its own county with its own Supreme Court, and city law is genuinely different โ sidewalk liability, the Pothole Law and the transit authority's separate notice period all change at the city line.
Which court your claim goes to
Where the accident happened decides where the case is heard, and it is rarely the village whose name is on the street sign. Injury claims from anywhere in Westchester are filed at Westchester County Supreme Court in White Plains. Claims from anywhere in Rockland go to the Rockland County Courthouse in New City.
Village and town justice courts handle local matters — including traffic tickets — but not injury claims. Answering at the wrong court is treated as not answering at all.
The ninety-day rule catches people out here more than anywhere
Both counties are built from many small villages, towns and hamlets, each a separate municipal entity with its own roads, sidewalks, school district and vehicles. When any of them may be responsible, a notice of claim is generally required within 90 days under General Municipal Law §50-e — not the three years that applies to an ordinary negligence claim.
The hard part is rarely the deadline itself. It is working out which entity owed the duty, when a road may be village-owned but county-maintained, or a sidewalk belongs to the property owner in one block and the municipality in the next. Where that is genuinely unclear at ninety days, notice goes to every candidate rather than to a best guess.
Where we do not have an office
We have four: White Plains, Nyack, Nanuet and Brooklyn. We do not have an office in the other communities on this page, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. We serve them from these four, we appear in their courts, and if an injury makes travel difficult we will come to you at home or in hospital.
