Spring Valley, Rockland County
Spring Valley Personal Injury Lawyer
One of the most densely populated square miles in New York State, and a village where a very large share of residents get around on foot.
Free Case ReviewDensity is the defining fact here
Spring Valley packs a large population into a small footprint, and a substantial proportion of residents walk to shops, schools and services rather than drive. Route 59 and Route 45 carry regional commercial traffic straight through the middle of that.
The result is a pedestrian injury rate out of proportion to the village’s size. Crosswalk collisions, vehicles turning across a walk signal, and children struck near schools account for far more of the serious injuries here than the highway-speed crashes that dominate elsewhere in Rockland.
Housing stock and premises claims
Much of the village’s rental housing is older and densely occupied. Premises claims here cluster around stairs and egress lighting in multi-family buildings, and around lead paint obligations where children live in pre-1978 housing.
Where a Spring Valley claim goes
Rockland County Courthouse in New City. Village matters, including traffic, go to the Village of Spring Valley Justice Court.
We do not have an office here
Our offices are in White Plains, Nyack, Nanuet and Brooklyn. We serve this community from those offices and will meet you at home or in hospital if traveling is difficult.
If a municipal vehicle, county bus, school district or public sidewalk was involved, a notice of claim is generally required within 90 days under General Municipal Law §50-e — not the ordinary three years. Establishing which entity is responsible is the first task.
